ROCHE TO STEP DOWN, O’HARAE STEPS UP!
Due to ongoing international work commitments with Football Australia, Byron Bay FC President, Ben Roche, has regrettably stepped down from his role as Club President.
Roche’s travel schedule with Football Australia and The Pararoos, has meant he is not able to commit as much time to the Club and his family as he would like. Jay O’Harae will step up from his Committee role as Executive Senior Teams, to take on the role of Acting President Byron Bay FC.
In what would have been his third season as President, the Club has seen enormous growth both on and off the field, with the new Clubhouse nearing completion, record playing numbers and teams (720 registered players in 2024), female teams at every age level, record sponsorship and support from the local community, and an expanding Executive Committee and General Committee – involving more people in the day-to-day running of the Club and its strategic Operations.
Jay O’Harae will take on the role as Acting President, active immediately. O’Harae will lead the Club with the support of both the General Committee and Executive Committee until the 2024 AGM in November. The Club thanks Ben and his family for his significant contribution. Ben will still be at games and around the Club when he can.
