BYRON BAY FC women’s football program - MAKING HISTORY
Byron Bay FC proudly fields female teams at every age group from U6-Open women, and leads the way in the development of female football in the Norther Rivers. The top female team, the Prems, are actively involved in the coaching an mentoring of young female athletes, creating a strong and safe environment for young girls to develop their game and compete socially or at at the highest level possible.
The Prems team, formerly known as the Wildcats, have caused plenty of cupsets over the years - especially so when they won the region’s cup competition, the Callan McMillan Shield, three times in the 2000’s.
After winning four consecutive titles in the 80s and strong period in the 2000s, the Wildcats returned to the Premier Division in 2016 and made it all the way the Grand Final two seasons later, pushing the highly fancied Lismore Thistles to extra time before falling to a 2-1 defeat.
If you would like to trial for a position in the club’s Premier Division squad, please contact us. Pre-season training begins in January, Callan McMillan Shield starts in March and the regular season begins in April.
