BBFC July News - Let's rally behind Tommy
❤️ Lets rally behind Tommy
BBFC player Tom Chatterton recently suffered a severe leg injury while playing in the Championships against Burringbar, requiring an extensive seven-hour emergency surgery. Tom now faces further surgeries and an estimated 6–12 months of rehabilitation. A GoFundMe has been established to support Tom and his family through the significant financial and physical strain of his recovery.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference - and sharing the fundraiser will help spread the word. Let’s rally together as a club and community to help Tommy focus on healing and getting back on his feet.
PS Huge thanks to all those who've already donated. Great to see the BBFC community rallying around this young gun after what is such a terrible injury. Thanks also to Toby Spencer for organising the Go Fund Me page on behalf of the Club.

👮 Clubhouse security update
We're disappointed to confirm that our community clubhouse has now been broken into twice, with several other attempted break-ins over the past 12 months.
Our CCTV cameras captured the latest incident, where two individuals smashed an upstairs glass sliding door in an attempt to access the bar. The footage has been provided to NSW Police, who have DNA evidence and are investigating.
It's disappointing to see our community facility, built through the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors and members, targeted in this way. If you see any suspcious activity please contact the Byron Bay Police. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and protect our community club.

⚽ BBFC Community Opportunity
We're looking for a few volunteers to fill two important behind-the-scenes roles that help make every MiniRoos season special.
🏆 MiniRoos Trophy Assistant (Vacant)
Collect trophy numbers from coaches and team managers via WhatsApp.
Help set up trophies for MiniRoos Awards Day.
Time commitment: 6–7 hours total over 6 weeks.
Full support provided by our Volunteers Coordinator.
👘 Game Day Jersey Assistants (2–4 Volunteers Needed)
Next season we'll launch our new BBFC game day jerseys for MiniRoos and Youth teams.
You'll help:
-
Organise jerseys, training tops and team bags.
-
Prepare jersey allocations for Coaches Day.
-
Provide feedback to improve the jersey program.
-
Assist with future jersey design and ordering.
Time commitment: Around 1–2 hours per week at the start and end of the season.
Like all BBFC volunteer positions these roles are fully supported by experienced committee members and are a great way to contribute behind the scenes.
Also, they are both very highly paid.
Well no they are not but you might just snag a free snag and a coke on gameday!
Interested? Please email volunteers@byronbayfc.com.au
🙏 As always thanks to our generous sponsors below
